John Robinson
         A member of the editorial staff of Motorcycle  Mechanics, John Robinson covers over  30,000 miles a year, testing machines on road and track, as well as taking part in the
         odd off-road event, not counting involuntary  excursions. He is also the author of numerous technical articles relating to both road and  racing machines.
         His interest in endurance racing began,  ironically, after he had been persuaded to  visit the 24-hour car race at Le Mans, at the  time when the most impressive features
         were the atmosphere and the grandeur of the  200mph Fords and Porsches.
        Since then, the author has covered endurance racing events on a regular  basis for feature articles in the magazine  watching as the racing grew to earn full
         works support and the prospect of a World Championship.
         Apart from concentrating mainly on  motorcycles and their engineering, with a  special interest in riding them and observing technical development, his main fascination
         lies in seeing a theory hatched out through development work and finally discovering  how well it works on the track, or on the road.
