Being bitten by the hot rodding bug is somewhat like being bitten by a Vampire, you're under its power for the rest of your life. In the case of hot rodding you interest may wax and wane a little over the years but basically you will always have that deep down "car nut" feeling.

Compared to the number of people who actually get bitten by the bug only a few achieve their eventual aim - to build their own car. Many make a start but equally many become disenchanted halfway through the project and consequently relegate it to a remote corner of the yard or sell the car out of frustration. Often that frustration comes about because the owner gets to a certain stage and is confronted with an obstacle that steals away his enthusiasm. It might be lack of mechanical knowledge, lack of funds or lack of foresight that is the culprit, but whatever the reason the project suddenly stops, never to start again. Experience tells me that often such projects could have come to fruition if only the owner had access to pertinent information or had planned the whole thing a little better in the first place.
