It is the story of Hemi engines ruling the speedways and drag strips. Mopar has powered the success of some of  the greatest names in racing, including the greatest stock car racer of all time, Richard Petty, and Don Garlits, the man who ruled the drag strips for decades.
For the first time, Chrysler Corporation's entire racing history has been chronicled in one book, covering the company's first forays at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1920s all the way up to its current involvement in NASCAR, sprint car racing, sports car racing, and many other high-performance endeavors.
 
         About the Author
Jim Schild is the publisher of The Auto Review and the author of several automotive books, including Maximum Performance: Mopar SuperStock Drag Racing 1962-1969.Schild lives in Columbia, Illinois, and is a member of 15 local and national collector car organizations, including the Society of Automotive Historians.
